Uninstalling it may be a bit extreme. How about just disabling it,
either for yourself by turning it off in the Control Panel, or via
Policy if you are an Admin for other systems.

Perhaps if you explained the situation a bit more?

Hi.
Because the new 'Auto update' feature not only does not update my machine.
but it stay locked in an endless loop supposedly checking my installed
products. I wish that I had not clicked yes for the installation of the new
auto update software. At least the old method worked within 60 seconds.

Hi;

It's best to resolve the problem you are having with the update service
rather than kill it. Please try the steps below.

1. On the Start/Run line enter: "net stop wuauserv"

2. Open the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and delete these
items:
SelfUpdate
WebSetup
WuRedir
AuthCabs
DataStore
Download

3. Open Control Panel then Internet Options. Perform the following:
a. on the General tab click to Delete Files, then mark the box to
delete offline content
b. on the Advanced tab, scroll all the way down and verify that all
listed SSL options are checked
c. on the Security tab, click the Trusted Sites icon, then Sites;
unmark the box at the bottom about HTTPS; add "*.microsoft.com" and
"*.windowsupdate.com" to the list of Trusted Sites

4. Restart the computer

5. On the Start/Run line enter: "wuauclt.exe /detectnow"

That last entry will trigger Automatic Updates in a few minutes. The
current version of the AU controls will be installed, then your system
will be polled for needed content. Install any that are found,
preferably one at a time.

Please let us know if you continue to have problems.
