Windows automatic update caused new errors.

I recive the automatic windows updates, and now my online gameing site (msn
gaming zone, euchure (multi-player game) is not seeing my directx 9.0c. I
didn't have a problem with this for 4 years and all of a sudden I can no
longer play. Any ideals on what update could have caused this, or what fix
there maybe for it?
