Is KB927978 listed in Add/Remove Programs as
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB927978) ?
Is KB925672 listed under Windows XP - Software Updates in Add/Remove ?
If so, uninstall it, restart the system, then allow KB927978 to install.
Restart the system.
Did that help ?
KB927978 supercedes KB925672 and is actually the entire MSXML package
rereleased with the vulnerability corrected.
