The method described by Mowgreen should fix the issue, but I would like to understand how the machine got into this situation. How come I can never get a Microsoft tech to ask me to send my windows
update log? I've been having an error 80072EFD for 2 months now on Windows Vista Home Premium and all I get is drivel telling me about firewalls I don't have. I've even turned off Windows Firewall and still get the error. I'm down to manually installing the updates. As usual Windows Vista is in Beta and they are using live unsuspecting customers to test it out. Just say NO to Vista. I too have developed this problem.
I'm unable to update my windows or Defender. I can't find the C:\window\windowsupdate.log on my computer. I think that's why I can't right click the automatic updates and click stop to delete the contents in WuRedir. Please help I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate.
