Windows can't find new updates

Code 80070490. So far I haven't gotten very far in solving this problem.

I keep getting Error Code 80070490 when trying to download Windows
updates. I've looked through a number of suggested fixes and have
reached the conclusion that I need to reinstall Vista. However, my
laptop came with Vista Home Premium pre-installed so I don't have an
installation disk to reinstall from.

Any suggestions how I can overcome this problem?
