Windows Corrupted

I think my Windows xpsp2 is corrupted. Many missing files,, when trying to
open receive a cannot locate, browse etc.,. Can I safely uninstall Windows xp
with cd from Dell and reinstall without completely messing up my other files
or what can I do?
