Windows Defender (beta) security update fails

Windows Update tells me I need an update for the Defender beta software...but
the update fails.
In trying to recover, it says to run the genuine Validation tool...and I do
that..I get no confirmation as to whether I have it or not! {I do, actually}.
I tried removing Windows Defender with ADD/REMOVE..it shows up as listed
there but there's no uninstall. But it also doesn't show when I open Windows
Explorer, so it's not there anyways!
And whn I try and download Windows Defender, it seems to go though the
motions of installing, but nothing happens!
What's happening? {I know it's beta, but....}.

You are not the only one, so it seems that Microsoft might have a problem
with this one. Seems to me a bit unusual that several are having the same
problem. Hopefully they will pick up on this.

Hopefully people who aren't BETA testers won't download BETAS but, then
again, some people will download *anything*. I bet you have IE 7 too,
don't you?

hi pples i have same problem whit defenders beta the up date dont want to
install i think its microsoft problem cuz its a beta maybe they will fix it
soon i hope

I suppose that is why you call yourself "Alias", you haven't a clue what you
are writing or who you are! You are obviously not a beta tester. Please
confine your replies to ones that are relevant and assist in the subject
matter.

If you're a BETA tester, fine and dandy, but too many people are
downloading BETAs that have no business doing so.

Who I am is not relevant to the discussion but, so you don't do it in
the future, look up what an "ad hominem attack" means.

Try the Resolution in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=915105 & reboot the
machine.

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender Beta2
support and comments. This is not one of them.
