Please see this page http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm then post back to this
thread with the information we'd need to be able to assist you properly.

See this KB article which has many suggestions & tips:

How to troubleshoot definition update issues for Windows Defender:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918355

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender support
and comments. This is not one of them. See
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...s/default.mspx

Thank you very much Boraxus. It was a lifesaver. It works with no further
problem.

working.

Not sure how or why but the above REGSVR32 batch file fixed my issue
completely. Thanks again Boraxus!

OR, just download, ***save***, and then run the Fixit on this page:

How do I reset Windows Update components?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

The system needs to be connected to the internet when run as it will
download the updating software components required to update a Windows OS.
Running it in it's Aggressive mode will do all the steps listed in the MSKB.
The Fixit applies to *both* x86 (32bit) and x64 system architecture.
