I posted this query on 16.09.2009, and thanks for the help I received, but
it remains unresolved. In the interim I have uninstalled and custom
reinstalled my AVG which has helped a little, but I sometimes have a problem
with the WLMsgr - can't sign in. I am hoping that someone reads this who
can help me. I was wondering if I should uninstall my Internet Provider
thoroughly - VMC Lite - and reinstall it as the problem seems also to come
from there. No. 3 below: Dial up and Virtual Private Network settings:
HUAWEI3G.Denise, and VMC Lite - Below, marked, never dial a connection.
And yet Start/connect to: VMC Lite connected (now), and HUAWEI3G.Denise:
Dial up connection. Surely this is wrong.

I tried the following fix:

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the Connections tab, click LAN Settings, and then click Advance.
4. Delete any entry in the Exceptions section.
5. Quit Internet Explorer.
6. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
7. Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.
o proxycfg -d
o net stop wuauserv
o net start wuauserv

I cannot do this as No. 3 -Advanced - is greyed out.

Please can someone help me I am really desperate?

JD
