Windows Defender Turns Off

I have this problem where my Windows Defender just turns itself on when I
manually turn it on, and it also does not start when I log in. I have
checked to make sure it is supposed to start when Windows boots up and the
box is checked, so it should.
Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this problem?

Check Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > make the Windows
Defender service is set to start automatically.
