I'm getting an exclamation point that says "Check for new definitions",
however, my definitions were updated on 9/22/06. I clicked on the
"troubleshooting" link, and it discussed this problem relating to when one
RE-INSTALLS defender. I have not re-installed it. I followed those
directions anyhow: I removed the old definitions, made sure that I'm set up
to receive automatic updates (which I always have been), and I checked for
updates (of which none are available today, 9/25/06). That stupid message
won't go away though. Am I missing something here? FYI: I am using
Defender Version 1.1.1347.0, Engine Version 1.1.1560.0 and Definition version
1.14.1704.2

I'd really appreciate some help!

You're running the latest Defs, KT (as of this post).

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender Beta2
support and comments. This is not one of them.
