Windows does not recognize this MIME type.

Hi,
I keep getting this message usually after a particular program is asking to
run.
I am also unable to download microsoft.NETFramework, version 1.1 security
update. I have emailed microsoft but have had no reply. This particular
update has tried to download automatically without success (at 20 times) over
the last two weeks. On switching off my pc the update is shown. I have a
vista home premium 32 bit. Can someone please solve this problem?

What "particular program"? No one can help you without that information.
