Windows dropping display color profile

Hello, I am a photographer and need to calibrate my display.

I use an i1 Display to calibrate my Dell Inspiron 1525. In the last three
weeks or so, once the display has been saved I unplug the i1 Display - and
suddenly the profile is unloaded and the monitor returns to its unprofiled
state.

I've also had this happen upon turning on my external hard drive or plugging
(or maybe unplugging) a printer. (My printer is currently being serviced and
I can't accurately recall if it also happens on unplugging it.)

Vista seems to unload the profile at random too, for example when starting a
program sometimes.

X-Rite's web site says: http://www.xrite.com//product_overview.aspx?ID=758

Monitor Profile Doesn't Load Automatically - Vista

Vista seems to unload calibration profiles. Until this is resolved by
driver fixes or changes in the operating system, load profiles manually with
the "Calibration Loader"

So I use Calibration Loader to reload the profile.

Sorry, I sent that before I'd finished - can anyone verify that this is a
Vista problem?

I just lost the profile again a few seconds ago - when I received a
notification that a driver was being installed.

So it's not just a usb issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance,
Richard

Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. invader@nospamforme.com Windows Vista General Discussion 1 11-01-2007 05:25 PM
