Windows Easy Transfer COMPANION (WETC)

Does anyone know what has happened to the WET*_C_* that was available
cuple weeks ago, but is no longer (pulled by MS)?. Does anyone kno
what the future is? I have a 64-bit machine that needs to transfer 1
years worth of applications/programs from a 32 bit XP Pro system.

I believe someone recently said (here) that it had problems with SP1
and is being worked on.

They're still at WalMart. They're made by Belkin. If you have a home
network, you don't need the cable, just the software to install on the XP
machine:

It would work fine for data files and settings, but unless there's something
really special about this, you couldn't just copy applications/programs over
to the Vista PC. If they aren't on the Vista PC they would have to be
installed, assuming they are compatible with Vista/64.
