Windows Easy Transfer - Same computer?

Will the transfer work if I want to transfer data from my backup drive to my
primary drive? That is...D: to C:, where C drive has Ultimate installed,
and D: is an imaged drive with Home Premium on it. When I start Easy
Transfer it starts with "old computer" to "new computer".

In theory it should work, it will just ask you for the location of the file
that was created by the transfer wizard.

Yes it will. I use it to backup before a format. It's very handy. You
can select or deselect what you want to restore, then save it to your
backup drive. Make sure to go through it in detail - by default it will
save everything, even your backup drive's contents.
