windows encountered a problem and needs to close

Hi,
I am now getting several programs that have this message when I try to open
them. One is Windows Movie Maker, one is my own movie program Magix Movie Pro
Edit 12 and some others.

I send the report and when I look at the details it says the exe file and
the code: oxc0000005.

Can anyone tell me where to start to fix this. I am running XP professional.

The first thing to do is search the internet for error code c0000005.
The next thing is to search Help & Support for error code c0000005.
Are you certain that there aren't four more hex integers associated with the
stop?

Does "the exe file" mean either the program Windows Movie Maker or the
program Magix Movie Pro? All "exe files" contain programs.
