Why can't I download any software or updates? It won't even scan for newer
updates to be loaded, my computer just automatically goes to this error. Or
if I want to download an update for my virus protection. It will give me an
error message that "this file is corrupted" When I know that the file is
fine. Please Help!!

Below are the steps to correct the problem.

Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 SOFTPUB.DLL" (w/o the

quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.

Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 INITPKI.DLL" (w/o the

quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.

Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 MSSIP32.DLL" (w/o the

quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.

Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 wintrust.dll (w/o the

quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.

Now try the Windows Update site and see if you get the same

error."

Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Softpub.dll, and then click OK two times.
Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Mssip32.dll, and then click OK two times.
Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Initpki.dll, and then click OK two times.
Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 wintrust.dll, and then click OK two times
Reboot

If that didn’t work, then try:-

1. open "wordpad"
2. copy this text (below) into the "wordpad" document
3. save the "wordpad" file as "myreg.bat" to your desktop and then "double
click" to launch

net stop wuauserv
regsvr32 wuapi.dll /s
regsvr32 wups.dll /s
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll /s
regsvr32 wucltui.dll /s
regsvr32 wuweb.dll /s
regsvr32 msxml.dll /s
regsvr32 msxml2.dll /s
regsvr32 msxml3.dll /s
regsvr32 urlmon.dll /s
net start wuauserv
regsvr32 softpub.dll /s
regsvr32 initpki.dll /s
regsvr32 mssip32.dll /s
regsvr32 wintrust.dll /s
regsvr32 dssenh.dll /s
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll /s
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll /s
regsvr32 sccbase.dll /s
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll /s
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll /s
regsvr32 jscript.dll /s
net start wuauserv
