Windows Error Reporting Service

Vista Basic sp2

I have Windows Error Reporting Service Disabled in Services.
But, in Task Scheduler the Windows Error Reporting is still
set to and does run at "Log on of any user."
I thought disabling the service in services causes the service not to run!?
Any idea why this runs even though I have the service disable??
The only reason I found out this runs is because I have an event sound for
Open Program.
I wonder how many other services I have disabled that run without my
knowledge.

Thanks
James
