1. Hey you guys know if using this in Home Premium to get the internet
explorer icon back is against the eula (specially under "you may not work
around any technical limitations in the software"):

>To add the Internet Explorer icon back to the Windows Vista desktop follow these >steps:

>Open Registry Editor.

>In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:

>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Hide>DesktopIcons\NewStartPane l

>Create the following key (DWORD 32-bit):

>{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}

>(just copy/paste, including the brackets)

>Note: As always, before making changes to your registry you should always make >sure you have a valid backup. In cases where you're supposed to delete or modify >keys or values from the registry it is possible to first export that key or value(s) to >a .REG file before performing the changes.

>Close Registry Editor.

>There is no need to reboot. Just wait a few seconds and see how the icon >appears:

2. What does "technical limitation" mean?
3. Am I allowed to use a program to make the window transparent even when
fully maximized is that against the "technical limitation"?
4. What about registry changing, is that considered as a technical
limitation or am I allowed to use it?

Hi Mr. Mime,

LOL, you can do it legally under the EULA. It does make you wonder the
way it is worded.

Getting arrested for changing the registry is just about as unlikely to
happen has getting arrested for filling up your cars gas tank!

It's legal. In fact, it's required. If you could not change the
registry, then 100% of all the third party applications out there would
be able to be installed!

It'd be perfectly within the EULA to edit the registry, but it seems
like a lot of unnecessary trouble, in this case. Why not simply copy
and paste one of the existing IE shortcuts (either from the Start Menu
or the Quick Launch Bar)?
