Looking for help please!
Whenever I attempt to open a file on a secondary hard drive in my computer
Explorer will crash, then have to restart.
This problem has become increasingly worse now to the point where I cannot
use explorer.

I have a home built Vista Ultimate 32 bit machine with a dual core processor.

Any suggestions.

Thanks.
Barry

I don't think this is a Vista problem or the usual Explorer problem, it
sounds like it might be a driver problem.

Did you get a vista compatible driver CD with the motherboard and have
you looked on the manufacturer's website for updated chipset drivers?

Have you applied the Performance and Reliability update for Windows Vista?

When explorer crashes an error is written in the event logs. Often this
error can help you diagnose the problem. Vista has many built in programs to
help with diagnosing problems.

Thank you Andre.
I have checked out the link in your response, however this leads me to an
update for 64bit operating systems; I have a 32 bit vista ultimate.
Thanks again.

Hi Charlie.
The mother board cd does NOT indicate Vista; the Asus site also makes no
mention of vista certified; they do not list a vista chipset, only XP chipset
updates.

This may mean moving back to XP Pro?

Thanks again.

Hi,

I just bought a Toshiba L200-P532. I also had the windows explorer and
internet explorer crashes. So far turning off all blue tooth devices,
controllers and software seemd to to have solved the problem. In other words
Vista seems fine but some blue tooth vendors including Toashiba seems to have
a problem.
