Windows Explorer Explore option is gone from right-click menu

I have Windows Vista Home Basic. In Windows Explorer, I have lost th
"Explore" option when I right-click a folder in the file view area. Al
I see is *Open* in bold, followed by several installed software options
and below those are Send to..., Cut, Copy, ... Properties

As a result, double-clicking on a folder opens a new window. On ever
other Vista computer, doing this simply moves focus to that folder an

is set to "Open each folder in the same window". However
double-clicking on a folder opens a NEW WINDOW. I Hate that

I have searched the Internet for solutions, but cannot even find
description of my problem anywhere. I would sure appreciate some help

Well I'll be da###d! I think I solved it. (Who is "Keith Miller, MVP"
I need to thank him.

I found this thread: '*change the default explorer mode to explore*
(http://tinyurl.com/7uafku) where he referred to regedit
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\explore

Fortunately, I have a nearly identical computer (my wife's) that work
properly, so I compared the two. On my non-working computer, there i
an extra String Value entry:
LegacyDisable &nbsp; REG_S
with no value. This looked suspicious, so I just renamed it by addin
_xxx to the end. Immediately, my Explore option has returned

Anyone have any clues as to what software install would add that stupi
line? :confused
