Hey all,

I've read over and over again different people having problems with this,
and I can't seem to take care of it.

No matter HOW I get into my windows explorer, through the start>computer, or
start>documents or anything having to do with exploring my files, I can get
to the root file of what I want, and when I click on it to get into the file
it shuts down windows explorer....much like everyone else, my start bar on
the bottom goes away and it just won't let me in no matter what I do....

Any help guys and gals?

Hi Spence,

If you have a Vista installation or Express DVD, then you can do a
Repair install. This will allow you to repair your Vista installation
without losing your files, settings, and programs. This tutorial will
show you how.

Great, I'll give it a shot.

It's just the most annoying thing when you're trying to do something to have
it shut down over and over and over. Thanks though, I'll certainly try it.

What's up Brink,

That link doesn't seem to work for me.

This is the thing> I'm on a laptop running Vista Premium 32 bit. Vista came
pre-installed on it, I don't have a disc for it....

Any other tricks I can try?

Spence,

I see. Yes, it would be hard to do a Repair install without a Vista
installation DVD. LOL You can order a Vista installation dvd from the
maker (OEM) of the laptop for a small S&H fee.

You can try to see if running a "sfc /scannow" (no quotes) command will
fix any bad system files. This tutorial will show you how.
