Windows Explorer keeps hanging up when it looks at CD/DVD Drive

For some reason Windows explorer hangs up when I try to load or look at whats
in the CD/DVD drive whether it be a music, installation or whatever CD/DVD.
It hangs up so bad that the only end solution is to power off the computer.
Is this a software or hardware problem?

Hi MAlpert

You might check your AutoPlay settings or just turn it off to see i
that stops the hangup. On my system it only takes a few seconds of han
time for Vista to scan and initialize the DVD real quick and enabl
AutoPlay. Other than that, I am not sure. You can look here for how t
