That's a bug in Windows Vista, and there is still no update or automated
patch for it. (AFAIK)
What you need to do is open Regedit, and find all the keys named "Bags" and
delete them.
This will erase all your custom view settings for folders, but it will fix
the multi-select issue, and also fixes the common problem that folders with
no pictures in it still show as picture folders, etc.
