Windows Explorer Shell Extensions

I have a real mystery on my hands. It seems that every time I install
a program that changes Windows Explorer, the shell extension
disappears after rebooting. When I installed AVG, I could right click
in windows explorer and have the option to scan a file. It soon
disappeared. I then installed Spyware Terminator. It also had a
shell extension to right click in windows explorer to scan a file. It
too has disappeared. Anyone have any ideas what's happening and how I
can fix it?

TIA for your help!!

Donna

I guess I have everyone stumped. I ran the "shell extension view"
program and it shows that both Avast and Spyware Terminator are
enabled. I reinstalled Terminator and the shell extension is back on
the context menu. I'm sure as soon as I turn off my laptop, it will
disappear. I would really appreciate any help!!

Thanks so much!!!
