Hello,

I have installed in my Laptop Windows XP Media Center with Service Pack 3.
I'm trying to update windows but I cant. All updates faill. When I go
through Internet Explorer I can see that all updates listed have 0Kb in size
of update.

Is there any solution for this? Why does this happen?

Thanks

Hello Joao,

See if the solution in this thread helps.

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...8-f878e351887f

See if anything here helps.

For XP they are 2 o 3 solutions, here is two of them

Dial-ª-Fix

Go ahead and download Dial-ª-Fix.
<http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix>
Scroll down about 2/3 of the way to Download Dial-ª-fix

Click the Double green checkmark and click Go.

After it has finished, Reboot

Try Windows Update and see if you can get your updates installed.

OR

You might want to try Eddie Bowers tool:

Let us know what hªppens.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from
Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new
Windows XP installation or you repair a Windows XP installation
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144

Ignore the title and try Method 1 first.

MowGreen [MVP], This link you provided was the MOST HELPFUL thing ever. I
did just what the link said to do in the cmd to register the new "wups2.dll"
that SP3 put in but failed to register, and it WORKED! I now have "updates."
I had worked for 2 DAYS with nice, Microsoft technicians but they did NOT do
this or have me do it. I've reformatted this machine for a 2nd time, and
thanks to you.....everything seems smooth sailing from here on. Thanks, Old
Sandy

You're mowst welcome, Old Sandy. I was under the impression that the MS
CSS techs were now aware of this issue after the application of XP SP3.
Apparently, they're not
Let's see what I can do about that.
