Windows fails on first run

I've just installed Vista RC1 on my laptop and it works fine. When the
installation completed I tried it on my Desktop computer. After the second
reboot during the installation, the system failed and I got a bluescreen. The
message was PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAIL.

Is it only me who experiences this error? I've already ran the compatibility
wizard which said that my computer is ready for Vista.

Any hints here?

I found a solution. I had Symantec products installed on my computer (from my
XP installation). Especially GoBack and Ghost really messed up the
installation. This solved my problem and Vista is running smoothly now!

How this helped some =)
