I am trying to reinstall windows XP, I am using the six bootable disks to get
the setup started. After the partition has been reformatted and the
installation is a bout to begin it tells me the the .SIF file setup uses is
missing or corrupt. I have to exit the setup at the point. What do I do now.
When the comp tries to reboot it cant because there is no OS.

Diego

Hi Diego,

microsoft.public.windowsxp.setup_deployment is a more suitable newsgroup for
your question. Please post your question to that newsgroup and include the
exact error message that you're receiving (i.e., does it simply state ".SIF
file setup uses is missing or corrupt" or does it state something that is
more like "The following value in the .SIF file used by SETUP is corrupt or
missing: Value 0 on the line in section [SourceDisksFiles] with the key
SP1.cab")

Regards,
