Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)

I cant use updates. I need to check my system to use my outlook express
because i cant see any of my messages in it. I havent really used it for ages
as i hjave been using incredemail but now i want to go back to outlook
express. When i go to fix/repair it it says i havr to do updates but i think
i have a fault with some of my active x contols...help anyone?

are you sure that the patch kb896688 hasn't damaged your active x controls?
if not, there is a work around for genuine advantage validation tool. go to
tools in internet explorer, then click manage addons. at the addon screen,
make sure that you have clicked up at the top and selected "add-ons that have
been used by internet explorer". At this point, find the title that says
"Windows Genuine Advantage". Highlight it and click disable at the bottom.
Then select "Ok". Restart Internet Explorer and it should work.

i dont have manage addons in tools?
