Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool problem

hi,
iv been having a problem with ms update, every time i check for
updates it says that i have to install Windows Genuine Advantage
Validation Tool before i can download any other updates it installs ok
and i can download and install other updates after install it its just
when the next time i check for updates it does the same thing.
any ideas?

Once again, WGA bites the dust and requires technical configuring that
"may help". How special and "genuine" of them, especially considering it
doesn't benefit the PAYING customer one iota.

You may have to expand your answer "a little bit", since we don't
know what exactly you've tried already and what you're exprienceing.

Which "security software" is running in the background on your system?

What do the last ~50 lines of the "KB892130.log" file contain? You can
find the KB892130.log file in your Windows directory.

That's most likely not the only application running in the background.
I'm correct assuming that the manual installation of KB892130 doesn't
solve the problems on your system, even after rebooting Windows although
you may not be urged to do so?
