Windows host process rundll32 has stopped working

Whenever I start my computer, I receive five pop ups that all read: "Windows
host process rundll32 has stopped working."

I do not have Nero or Norton installed. I'm not having any sound issues.
I've already checked the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" box. And I
could not find a lmpgspl.ax file (but I'm not sure if I'm looking in the
right place).

Lastly, I don't know how to try the last suggestion I found which states:
Turn off Data Execution Prevention (DEP) by going to the command prompt and
typing in the following command: bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

Do I type this at the command prompt, and do I type it exactly as it reads?

Any help would be appreciated. These five pop-ups are annoying!

Thanks,
Amanda

1. You yourself said to run it at the command prompt...

2. Looking in the command window at (without quotes) "bcdedit /?" and then
"bcdedit /? set", I find that the command seems to be entered exactly as
you typed it.

Try the various help options you get to starting with the /? I showed
above. It *might* be informative, but I don't think it will be fun :-)

What are the specific fault data for those crashes according to the Problem
Reports and Solutions control under "View problem history"?
