Windows install fails on XP Pro Error number: 0x80072EE2 everytime

I have a problem trying to get Windows updates working.

I experience Error number: 0x80072EE2 everytime I go to the update site.
Now this error is listed in http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527/ and there
seems to be a problem with my hosts file. I get that info from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883821 where it says "The 0x80072EE7 error
code may occur when the client computer tries to resolve a URL for the
Windows Update Web site and cannot find the correct IP address. This error
may occur if the Hosts file contains a static IP address."

I had the localhost definition (127.0.0.1 localhost) in my hosts file and
some comment lines before it. I took the localhost definition out and I have
rebooted and still not got anywhere with it. I still get this error.

Can anyone out there help me solve this problem?
