Windows Installer 3.1 Beta hangs

This morning two of our computers started running the Windows Installer 3.1
Beta. The computers are running XP professional and the install hangs half
way through. Any known issues and how can I get this update off my computers
now that it has been downloaded and is ready to install.

I'm having the same issue.
I've also tried installing from two different locations:
1. Microsoft's website
2. The new Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

It also crashes Windows when:
1. Open Outlook 2003
2. Open Firefox 1.0.1
3. CTRL+ALT+DEL

Any idea how to fix this. I have a team of developers which is down right now
because that damn betas installer craches their machines. I tried
uninstalling and that did not help. Please let me know what you did to get
that buggy software off you machines. Thanks!
