Windows Installer 7.0.6

Evening all

Can someone please point me in the right direction, I cant download the
windows software installer 7.0.6000.381 I think that this is the main update
software to get windows updates. Is there any way i could install a previous
version of this to get it to work. Im using vista home basic. I am also
getting numerous different error codes aswell there is too many to list
hahaha.

the problem is it keeps saying install then when it goes to install and close
the reopen it just says cannot install files.

ive just tried to install the agent windows x86 based system which is what i
have and got the following error code 0x800703f9

I am having almost the same problem. I am using XP Pro spk2. The
updates seem to download but do not install. That is not an exact quote of
the dialog box but that is the essential message.

Also, this maybe be a dumb question, but what is "AgentWindows, x86-based
systems"

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

NB: Also applies to clean installs, upgrade installs, and Recovery installs.
