Windows Installer Blocks restoring

I am operating a 2005 XP MCE from HP. I just did a complete System Recovery
because of OE6 and other functional problems. I'm trying to add back some of
the folders and files that were backed-up. I can't do many of these because
the Windows Installer dialogue box pops up and the operation I'm trying to go
to says to close the box (hidden underneath the warning). When I click OK for
the warning, the dialogue box also disappears.
How can I get rid of the Dialogue?

Thanks

Since my Acronis Imaging and Roxio Creator were both on the fritz before I
did the Recovery, I did a physical copying of all folders. I was doing a copy
in reverse to restore the folders, which are data folders (no TV, Video or
Music).

Do I understand correctly that before you reinstalled the OS you copied data
files to another partition or disk then the one you reinstalled the OS on
and after the reinstalled OS was reinstalled and running normally and boots
normally that you are unable to copy the data files you backed your new OS
intallation?
By data files is it correct to assume that you are not including to any
Windows system files or to any program files but only data files constructed
you some of your application programs?

You're almost correct. I was able to copy individual folders back to the
computer that had the re-installed OS (+ MFG ancillary programs and ads) back
to the C: drive etc. The dialogue box blocked my opening of files within the
folders copied back to the original.
Subsequent actions (reloading 2 programs of Office) seemed to solve the
problem. I'm not sure why.

Thanks

You apparently were trying to open an office installation, program, or data
file and since Office itself had not yet been re-installed the file could
not be opened.
