WINDOWS INSTALLER CLEAN-UP UTILITY WILL NOT OPEN

I have downloaded & successfully installed the utility. When I try to open
it, the following error message pops up.
"Windows installer clean up application has stopped working." "A problem
caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program
and notify you if a solution is available" I have to open it as
admininstrator as I get a "V_script" error otherwise.

I have the same problem with the Roxio Easy Media 9.0 suite. The
introduction screen opens ok, but when an application in the EMC 9 trys to
open, the same message appears with the name of the application inserted
instead of "windows installer cleanup"

Any ideas ?

Did you -install- the Windows Installer Clean-up exe as admin? (Right click
on install exe and select "Run As Administrator".)

Sorry, can't speak to the Roxio issue's you're having...

Lang....Thanks for the reply .

Yes, the utility was installed as administrator. The same problem shows up.
The Event Viewer shows the Event ID as 1000 & the Task Catagory as (100).
The is the same as the Roxio Event Views.

The problem is apparently in Windows somewhere as this error message has
appeared at other times when working with other programs. In every case, the
message is the same as reported earlier with the program name changed.

Has anyone addressed this issue? I have the same problem with the Windows
installer clean-up... I'm also having a problem launching Agilix GoBinder...
I don't have Roxio installed... so it's not a Roxio related. I tried an in
place reinstall of Vista and that didn't fix the problem.

I had the same problem in getting the installer cleanup utility to wor
after i installed it 'Run as Admin'. the errror was somethign like erro
with server referral.

Anyway, I fixed it by trying something similar that I did recently t
uninstall both Safari and Quick Time (with both would fail throug
Add/Remove Programs - dang that Apple). Basically, I just enabled an
logged as the local Administrator account (disabled by default afte
installation), then ran the installation. Voi la! Installed easliy and
removed some old apps that didn't have the option to uninstall though
Add/Remove Programs. The Apple stuff just completed their uninstalls a
well without error. I still had to delete the file location and listin
in the Programs menu.

And yes, the other account I was previously working under was in th
local admins security group. It should of worked. I can't tell you wh
these things wouldn't work as the other admin account..
