Windows Installer for Microsoft Word 2002

Hi-

I uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Word 2002, and now have problems.
When using the CD-Rom I always get the following message: Windows
Installer-This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch
package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor
to verify that this is a valid Windows installer patch.

I sometimes get a Windows Installer Error 1635.

Also, I once installed any update for Microsoft Word 2002 that cannot be
deleted. It was Update ID: 7B802DE5-4503-965B-2ABFFC78506A In fact, I now
can't delete Microsoft Word 2002 from (Add or Remove Programs) inside Control
Panel.

I found an answer to my question at

It gives the following information:

Windows Installer Error 1635
This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists
and is accessible, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a
valid Windows Installer patch package

This behavior may occur when the following registry key is damaged:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Installer\Prod ucts\
DFAD2CEE8555CA04E8C905508C8F018E (read this for details).

Need to remove the software? First try Add/Remove Programs, then try the
Windows Installer CleanUp Utiltiy
