Windows installer runs when I right click on desktop icon

I am running Vista home premium on Toshiba laptop. I recently re-installed
Office 2007 because the installer opened every time I started an Office
application and ran for several minutes before allowing the application to
start. re-installation seemed to solve the problem. Except now I find that
when I right click on a desktop folder, up pops "please wait while Windows
configures Office Professional Plus 2007.??

This is really one for the Office newsgroups, but have you run the Microsoft
Office Diagnostics in the Office Tools folder? That can repair a lot of
stuff.
