Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1
Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)
I am unable to install the above from Windows Update. I have a feeling my
Norton Antivirus is blocking it

Your feeling could be right.
Try to, temporarily, deselect/disable all options for " securing the
startpage" (Norton AV, options, internet, securing the startpage).
This is a known flaw in NAV 2006. Try to install your updates. It should at
least work for the WGA update. Do not forget to restore the
deselected/disables options afterwards.

Thanx for response. I'll try your suggestion and let you know how I get on.
The Norton Antivirus is due for renewal on my Notebook. I've had other probs
with Norton blocking my email. I'm thinking of going back to Frisk who I used
to be with. What do you think?
Cheers

Tony,

I have recently updated my notebook to NAV 2006 and have not met any
problems besides the WGA item. I use the "default" setup for all options. Are
you sure that NAV is causing your e-mail problems and not your e-mail program
? What program are you using btw. ?

Cheers,
Ad

No, I'm not sure it's NAV causing probs. My email is OE.
Still haven't found a quiet half-hour or so to try your suggestion
Cheers

Hi Tony,

I forgot to mention that you also have to uncheck the " start protection of
my Symantec product" option. You will find that under "Miscellaneous".
Sorry for that.
