Windows Installer in Vista

I am using Windows Vista Business. I recently bought and successfully
downloaded Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro, however, the installation is always stopped
by the error code 1719: "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
This can occur if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Contact your
support personnel for assistance." In addition, I can't UN-INSTALL anything
either. What is the solution to my problem?

Thanks,
Paige Mincey

What happens when you start the service manually, by clicking the "Start" button? Do you get any error message?

I have the same error message but no error code. The Installer Service
is not in the list. Changing the regisrty works for some programs but
not for all. Error message is saying that another task is busy, but in
the task manager there is no other task active.

Is it possible that something removed the installer from the registry?
I have a lot of keys concerning msi but none of the ones mentioned in
the blog.

Well, I cannot download anything. No updates, upgrades, etc. And since I
now use Vista, I need to update my existing software so that it will all work
with Vista. So tell me, if you MS experts can't help me, who can? Am I
going to have to go back to XP? I am so fustrated, I just don't know what to
do. And this is all for my job! Any help is appreciated!

You didn't answer Ramesh's question:

"What happens when you start the service manually, by clicking the "Start" button? Do you get any error message?"

You replied:

"When trying each solution I got that same error code: 1719."

You are obviously avoiding answering a question . I wonder why that is.
Perhaps you just want to string it out for as long as possible for a joke.
