What is the file WINDOWS\KB823559.log? If this file became infected and was
deleted, will there be any adverse affects? Does it need to be replaced?
Windows XP is the OS.

Well KB823559 is the name for one of the security patches provided by
microsoft. But since the file in question is *.log I believe it is harmless.

I would advise you to scan through your system with antivirus and spyware
remover. You can perform a system file checker too if you are still worried
that you are losing important system files.
