So I get the famous "You must restart your computer for the update to take
effect" message.

We are running a WSUS and only 1 laptop have this problem out of over 400.

Rebooting has no effect and neither does the reg hack:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update

If the RebootRequired sub-key is present, right click on the key and then
click on the Delete option. Click Yes for confirmation.

Are there any other things to try beside a rebuild of the laptop?
