Windows Live Call Signup

I am trying to sign up for Windows Live Call, but I am stuck in a redirect
loop.

From the lastest WLM (2008 Build 8.5..) I try Tools->Billing
Information->Phone Calls.
From the subsequent Web page I click on the Learn More Link under the PC to
Phone section, where I am redirected to a MSN sign in page, when I give my
MSN password I just get redirected back to the same page.

If I try and make a call from WLM, everything in the Windows Live Call
dialog is greyed out.

Is there a system issue or am I doing something wrong?

(Just aquired a Uniden WIN 1200 phone that I want to use for Web calling)

Greetings Mark,

Which locale/country is your Windows Live ID set to?

Just so you're aware, the current Live Call service the way it is now will be discontinued in
August of next year. They've not indicated what the successor will be yet.

Thats a good suggestion, my home location that is registerd in USA/NH.

I already tried my wifes account as well and she got the same result.

I know that thay are going to discontinue the realtionship next year, found
out about it whilst searching for a result for this problem. Just wanted to
make sure that MSN had not cut off further subscriptions pending them finding
another partner.

Messenger support just told me that they are not allowing new sign ups until
they work out a new provider.

Thought I would share this for any others that get confused out there.

No I don't know the status, sorry not very useful :-)

I notice that Microsft have put back the "PC to Phone or Mobile Phones"
section the Windows Live Messenger "Connect" page

http://imagine-windowslive.com/Messe...Connect/#phone

but when you click "learn More" you still get the annoying loop; query for
your MSN account and then redirected back to exactly the same page!!

This will annoy a few more poor souls.

Hi,

"Imagine" sites are typically just marketing, so you can't really go by that.

Hi MarkRichardsNH":

I have the same problem of having a totally greyed-out Windows Live Call.
I still have some money with Verizon and want to make calls before it
expires in Aug this year. I have installed version 8.1 and 8.5 but not
concurrently, they both have the same greyed out Live Call window.

Did you ever solved your greyed out problem? I surely can use your solution!

Thanks,
