Jonathan,
Thank you for your response. Not quite sure if I understand it though. I
will be more specific. Sometimes, when WM feels like it, it will launch when
I start MSO 2003. I do not like this since I do not use WM. I use WLM. I
am afraid of uninstalling WM (especially since what Jenn says in her response
below). Is there a file path or something that I can switch so when I lauch
MSOutlook 2003, it will be associated with WLM?
In regard to your second responce, I have tried that suggestion already. I
wish I can give you a screen shot of what I am talking about. When I log on
to Windows Live Mail, go to my Contacts, go to options, then to Import, it
will take me to a page where any of the functions availble to Import my
Contacts from MSOutlook 2003 to my Contacts on my Windows Live Email WILL NOT
WORK. The Import Wizard will only recognize Outlook Express and I do not use
that. Something is broke. Do I have too many contacts to import? Is there
a limit? If so, it should be clearly stated. I also have the same problem
importing my Favorites to Windows Live Favorites. It just doesn't happen.
Let me know if I need to provide more info or something. Could it be
because I have not created a Windows Live Space? In the meantime, here is
what Jenn from another MS support area wrote:

Hi Bradley,
Thank you for contacting Windows Live Messenger Technical Support. My name
is Jenni and I will be glad to assist you with your concern.
Based on the information I received, I understand that you wanted to know
how to disable Windows Messenger for Windows Live Messenger to take place;
and you wanted to associate MS Outlook 2003 with the program. In addition,
you wanted to know how you can import your contacts from MS Outlook 2003 to
Windows Live Messenger contact list. I know the importance of this issue.
Please know that I will do my best to resolve your concern.
Bradley, Windows Messenger can be disabled to prevent it from running
automatically every time that you start Windows. You may also remove the
program but take note the removing Windows Messenger will cause features,
such as Remote Assistance, Application Sharing, and WhiteBoard, to be
unavailable. Steps to disable and remove Windows Messenger are provided below.
With regard to importing contacts from MS Outlook 2003 to Windows Live
Messenger is not available at the moment. You do not need to import contacts
if you will be using MSN or Hotmail instead, since the program is integrated.
Thus, that would be a good idea, we will have your suggestion forwarded to
the product team that carefully reviews these concerns or suggestions and
considers them for future releases.
To disable Microsoft Windows Messenger, use these procedures:
To change the setting in Windows Messenger
1. Start Windows Messenger.
2. On the "Tools" menu, click "Options."
3. Click the "Preferences" tab, clear the "Run this program when Windows
starts" check box, and then click "OK."
Note: This procedure does not prevent you from manually running Windows
Messenger, but it does prevent Windows Messenger from running automatically
every time that you start Windows.
How to remove Windows Messenger from a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer :
