windows live e-mail set up

I don't feel that I'm stupid,but,when it comes to setting up my live
messenger I must be.How do I find if I'm using pop3 or smtp or for that
matter who is my mail server,I just don't know can someone please help

The server names are as following;

POP3 server: pop3.live.com
POP3 port: 995
Username: Your Windows Live ID, for example,
Password: Your Windows Live ID password

SMTP server: smtp.live.com
SMTP port: 25 or 587 (I'd use 587 as most ISPs are blocking 25)

In both POP3 and SMTP, you'll need to turn on SSL or TLS, just look for the options in
whatever mail client you're trying to use.
