Hi,
Sorry if i am asking some same questions but it is some time ago i contacted
this forum as i had no problems at all with Windows Live Mail (that is the
only function i am using out of Windows Live Id).

I receive by now the possibility to install "Windows Live Essential" and if
i install it I also will use only the Mail part.

My questions are:
-Is WL Essential Mail just replacing WLM ?
-Is Wl? still supported ?
-If i install it what will happen: has i to line them up manually or will it
be automatically
-it is recommended to install it?

I did some search but didn't found anything on it.

Regards
Huib

When the Live Essentials upgrade begins, immediately close it. You will then
get a screen which gives you a choice of which to install.

You may regret it though.

Hi,
Thanks for the interest.
So far i was aware of it but i am more interested in the other items:
-Is WL Essential Mail just replacing WLM ?
-Is WlM still supported ?
-Has i to perform an manual uplining with the current data or is it
automatically.

Regards
Huib

If you do as I said, all you will get is an upgrade to WLM.

No. Windows Live Mail is just one of several components of Windows Live
Essentials. Put another way, Windows Live Essentials is a suite of related
services and applications, including Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live
Mail. It has been thus for some time, now.

Yes. It is one of several related applications which comprise Windows Live
Essentials.

When you run the Windows Live Essentials installer, you will be offered to
choose which components you wish to install. I have only chosen two: Windows
Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail. If you already have at least one
installed when you update Windows Live Essentials, the one you have
installed will be updated. You don't get to choose to skip an update.

Installation is a personal preference, and entirely dependent upon what you
want by way of related services and applications.

Probably Micosoft's fault; they are not in the habit of clearly identifying
what the Windows Live Essentials products are, or do. They would, of course,
prefer that you install the full suite. But you are not required to do that
to get just the parts you want.

Huib,

Best that you stick with WLM until you have read the various extensive
threads about Windows Live Essentials 2011 as the latter has very annoying
drawbacks, as you will see in the various threads. Once you have got it it
is very hard to get rid of, apparently.

In Windows 7 a simple system restore to just before you upgraded does it in
about 5 minutes.

In another post you wrote:

| It is amazingly slow and consumes every cycle of my PC use. Does it work
| properly for anyone?

WLM, Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3502.0922) is currently consuming no PC cycles
(probably because it isn't doing a blessed thing.) It definitely is working
for me, installed under Windows 7 (x64). I see no reason to avoid it, other
than the fact that it has some glitches. None bad enough that I will
uninstall it; I like the HTTPMail feature used with my Hotmail accounts.

WLM ***is*** part and parcel of Windows Live Essentials. I haven't tried to
get rid of what I've got; which is Windows Live Mail and Windows Live
Messenger. I have not installed any of the other "Essentials".
