Because there isn't one.
Since Microsoft rarely reads the majority of the microsoft.public.*
newsgroups, maybe you'd be better off addressing the question you have using
the Contact Us link on the
http://www.microsoft.com pages. If you need help
figuring out what address to mail, feel free to ask and I'm sure one of us
would be glad to help you.
Otherwise, you could read my messages and perhaps get an understand about
why there isn't a microsoft.public.windows.live.general newsgroup.
For what it's worth, I just looked at all posts going back to 7/13 (in other
words, I went back "MONTHS") and I don't see one message from you bemoaning
the lack of a microsoft.public.windows.live.general newsgroup.
I do, however, see quite a few posts from you discussing how the whole
'downloading' thing is dead and that the future is in just *viewing* data.
Well, I hate to say it but newsgroups, Microsoft's horrific web interface
excepted, are downloaded. Heck, even your viewing the newsgroup via a web
based interface still downloads data to your computer. It might not be as
easily worked with as a real newsreader, but it is still most definitely
downloaded to your computer.
