I always says that there are two teams that design GUIs at Microsoft. One has
great taste, and the other has awful taste. Unfortunately, it looks like the
second team is winning lately. Vista was a step in the right direction,
except for that ugly baby blue color in many places of the interface. But the
Vista GUI was incorporated in the previous version of Windows Live Mail
desktop. Now they switched to what unfortunately is coming to our desktops,
the Windows 7 style. WLM had a nice toolbar that you could select any color
and it would show it with this glassy or metalized look. Now you can't, no
matter what color you select even if you go into the palette, shows as an
ugly pastel color. And look at the interface in general. This is not a
program they have worked on for long, this is like a pre-alpha build!!
There's only text, barely any icons, a really ugly minimalistic look that
can't even spare me from a headache from the pastel colors. If at least I
could select a dark interface color to give my eyes a rest, but no, it's that
ugly pastel color everywhere.

Seriously, Steve Ballmer should kick these GUI people out of Microsoft and
hire ones with decent taste. I mean, come on, I'm not a designer, and I can
come up with something better than this crap!!!

Yep...

I've been saying that for months.

Who are the designers?...

An undisciplined gaggle of kids?

You missed your chance to speak up at the CES show yesterday<g>...in lieu of that there is an option to send feedback and available
from the WLM Help menu.

Oh, too bad. And yes, I saw the send feedback option, and I sent them a nice
message right before I posted my first message here.
