?Hi, John.
Welcome to the Ribbon! ;^}
Check out the QAT. That's the Quick Access Toolbar. It provides lots of
one-click shortcuts that make the Ribbon system much more usable. Almost
any button on any Ribbon can be added to the QAT. The QAT appears above the
Ribbon by default, but I find it easier to use since I clicked "Show Quick
Access Toolbar below the Ribbon".
To get started with the QAT, just click Home to show the Home Ribbon.
Right-click on Reply to group, then check "Add to Quick Access Toolbar".
Once the QAT appears, right-click any blank spot on it to put it below the
Ribbon.
Now that the QAT is operational, click the "Windows Live Mail" button.
That's the button in the upper left corner, where the "File" button always
used to be. Now it has no name at all - unless you hover your mouse over it
to make the name appear. Maybe we should just call it the WLM button?
Anyhow, click the WLM button, then right-click Options and add it to your
QAT. This eliminates one click and gives you quick access to the drop-down
menu to choose from Mail, NGs, etc. But, most of the time, we really are
looking for the Options menus with tabs for Send, Signatures, etc. So click
the WLM button again, click Options, then right-click on Mail to add that to
QAT. Now, when you click this new icon on the QAT, you'll get the Tools |
Options menu - so you've eliminated a couple of clicks, making it one click
quicker than in Wave 3. ;<)
One caveat: QAT icons get added in the order that you create them and can't
be re-sequenced, although they can be removed. So, after a trial run, you
might want to remove them all and recreate them in the order that you
prefer.

Doesn't seem to be the answer.
pressing Alt just adds 1,2,3,and 4 and F,H,O,V & S to the existing toolbar
display?
