HI everyone,

I have another question..... I just noticed after I asked my first
question, that WINDOWS LIVE MAIL email client, is NOT picking up my live
mail POP email......

MSN Messenger says that I have 2 emails waiting and, when I open LIVE
MAIL client, it goes.... Authenticating and then NO NEW MAIL.

At the time I was logged into webmail looking at someting in the
options and when I saw it pop up and say I had new email I hit LOG OFF
instantly.. I then fired up my email client and it went though the
AUTHENTICATING and then NO NEW MAIL yet their is mail on the server?

It sometimes picks up the mail and somtimes doesnt.. What could it be?

Are you certain your Live.com account is configured for pop3 mail properly ?
The following is applicable to Hotmail type accounts(Hotmail, Msn, and Live.com)

Hotmail and MSN Accounts POP3/SMTP Access

HI Winston,

Yes, I have it set up correctly, I have been talking back and
forth with a couple friends, but I just dont understand why if I am
logged into the website and if I get a email, and instantly log off the
webmail, and try go download my email, in WLM,

It will not download the email. It will say NO MESSSAGES.

I am trying to get use to POP3 again I havent used it in over 3
years so I am having to relearn the other way around, since LIVE MAIL
does not have IMAP, I wished they did though

Pop will download the server Inbox messages. Are the new messages in the
Inbox?

WLMail has IMAP access.

It would be easier to follow your posts if your were using WLM for the
newsgroup.

Hi Ron,

OH wow, I just clicked that link and WLM just opened the newsgroup section
of WLM Client that's very cool, So does that mean I am automatically
subscribed to this forum? I am new to newsgroups <G> Thank you for the link

Actually RON, I don't think Windows Live Mail has IMAP, all they have is
HTTP as far as I know? If it does have imap, can I have the instructions to
how to set up the IMAP NOT the HTTP mail.

I googled WINDOWS LIVE MAIL the other night, and all I found was POP3 or
HTTP protocol is the only thing they offered for their email

Thanks,
Christopher

Are the messages marked as read in the web interface in your Live.com account prior to attempting to download in WLM.

Hotmail accounts(hotmail.com, live.com, and msn.com) while capable of http(DeltaSync/WebDAV) and Pop3 are not imap capable.

If you send yourself an email from your isp account to your Live ID email account, and retrieve in WLM without first viewing it in
the web interface, is it delivered ?

Hi Winston,

No, they come in as UNREAD, but for some reason reason, if I have Windows
Live Mail closed, and I am logged into webmail and then log off webmail and
open Windows Live Mail, they just will not download, It will say I have no
new mail waiting

Very Odd aint it?

That's not what I asked.
I was really asking if you read or accessed the message in the web interface before attempting to download in WLM.

Winston,

Nope, they are UNREAD all I was doing was sitting inside the windows live
mail web interface writing something down from my online calendar.

I guess I cant log on to the web interface, because it wont let you
download your emails.
